This vintage is a blend of grapes sourced from various blocks across the estate, each contributing unique characteristics to create a complex and elegant Cabernet Sauvignon.

Our Cabernet Sauvignon is truly a classic in style, with a rich aroma, up-front cassis, tobacco and pencil lead on the nose. Delicious rich plumb and chocolate, are structured by firm, yet restrained tannins, which make way for an elegant finish.

Harvest and Winemaking Information:

Vinification: Grapes from 8 different blocks were handpicked and vinified separately to preserve the unique characteristics of each plot. The fermentation process lasted for 7 days, followed by an extended maceration period of at least a month to enhance color, tannin, and flavor extraction.
Aging: After pressing, the wine was aged in French oak barrels for 18 months, using 30% new oak to introduce subtle woody and spicy notes, and 70% second-fill barrels to ensure the wine develops complexity without overpowering the fruit flavors.
Viticulture:

Soil: The vineyards are planted in Oakleaf and Tukulu soils, known for their high fertility and excellent water retention, which contribute to the richness and depth of the wine.
Aspect: The vines are strategically planted facing North to North East, South West, and East, optimizing sun exposure for balanced ripening.
Elevation: Positioned at elevations of 150 – 300 meters above sea level, these vineyards benefit from cooler temperatures that slow grape maturation, enhancing flavor development.
Vineyard Size: 12 hectares of meticulously cared-for vines.
Vine Age: Mature vineyards with established root systems provide concentrated fruit.
Rootstock: Richter 99 and 101, chosen for their robustness and adaptability to the local terroir.
Tasting Notes:

Nose: The wine offers a rich bouquet of dark fruits like blackcurrant and black cherries, complemented by layers of cedar wood, vanilla, and a hint of tobacco.
