The Basson Family has it’s roots firmly in the history of Darling, being part of the original families to develop the potential of Darling Hills. Still a family Estate today the Basson wines is a reflection of their history.
The Basson Proprietors Blend is a classic blend of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Cabernet Franc and 5% Malbec.
Wine of Origin – Darling
Fermented at 28 degrees Celsius in open fermenters. Punch down occurring twice daily with further pump mover to soak the fermentation cap. After fermentation the wine lies on the grape skin for 10 days to extract maximum flavour, colour and tannin.
The wine is barrel aged in French oak for 16 months of which 50% is new oak.
