In the Vineyards: This wine is produced from 17 year old vineyards
on the Estate. The vineyard is situated on the lower North facing slopes.
The soil type is gravel and loam. The vines are trellised and
produce around 9 tons per hectare.
In the Cellar: The wine is pressed and the fermentation and maceration period takes 14 days. The wine then spent 6 months in French Oak barrels.
Tasting Notes: The De Waal Young Vines Shiraz is an easy drinking wine of medium body. It is a fruit driven with lots of fresh fruit characteristics, finishing with a hint of creamy mocha.
