Asara – Vineyard Collection Pinotage

Harvested early in the morning, the grapes are hand-selected and sorted. Only the healthiest grapes are destemmed and crushed. Cold maceration is done for two days to achieve optimum colour extraction before fermentation. During fermentation pump-overs are done 3 times daily and Malolactic fermentation was competed in tank. The wine was racked into French oak Barrels and aged for 12 months in 30% second fill and 70% older tight grain barrels.

Pure, distinct with layered black fruit purity and elegant freshness. This Pinotage is a beautiful, pure expression of South African grape. Typical plum and dark cherry aromas on the nose followed through on the palate overlaid with nuances of coffee mocha and enhanced with a smooth silky mouthfeel with juicy tannins on the finish.
